Gideon’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Gideon Gifford Robinson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the Indian Bible Church, Elton, with Dr. John Cernek and Reverend Don Barrett officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery, Elton, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Kinder. Mr. Robinson, 71, of Elton, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Jennings American Legion Hospital, Jennings, LA.

He was a member of the Coushatta Tribe and a longtime member and deacon of the Indian Bible Church. He enjoyed singing gospel music, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vera Robinson; one son, C. Bert Battise; his daughter, Cheryl Johnson; two brothers, Darriel Robinson and Shelby Robinson and two sisters, Lovenia Sylestine and Wileen Battise. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Glenna Robinson, of Elton; two sons, Sandy Robinson and his wife, Samantha, of Elton and G. Keith Robinson and his wife, Christy, of Elton; son-in-law, Levi Johnson, of Elton; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Valdo, of Elton; two brothers, Randy Robinson, of Livingston, TX. and Curley Robinson, of Livingston, TX.

; two sisters, Marian John, of Elton and Ena Sickey, of Elton; nine grandchildren, Shayna Robinson, Isaiah Johnson, Colby Robinson, Sydney Robinson, Seth Robinson, Baylen Robinson, Sienna Robinson, Simon Robinson and Sullivan Robinson and one great grandchild, Taleah Burridge. Visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Kinder, on Monday, February 4, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a singing service held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the Indian Bible Church on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
