Obituary for Gilbert Lisle Jobe Gilbert Lisle Jobe, 98, a longtime resident of Wassaic, NY, died on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at The Pines at Catskill in Catskill, NY. Mr. Jobe was a dairy farmer and owned and operated Rillside Farm in Wassaic, NY. Born on February 4, 1920 in Indiana, PA he was the son of the late Clair Gilbert and Viola Imogene (Carnahan) Jobe.

Mr. Job was a graduate of Indiana Public School and Long Island Agricultural and Technical Institute in Farmingdale, NY. On October 27, 1940 he married Evelyn Kathryn Thomas who predeceased him June 1, 1997. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II.

Mr. Jobe was a member of the Cornell Co-operative Extension in Millbrook and an honorary member of the FFA. He was also a member of the American Field Service Student Exchange Program, was on the Board of Directors for Dutchess Land Conservancy and a former member of the Webutuck Grange. He was a recipient of the New York State Dairy of Distinction Award from 1982-1989.

Mr. Jobe was a member and elder at the South Amenia Presbyterian Church and was a former Board of Directors member of the South Amenia Union Society. Mr. Jobe was also a member of the American Legion Post #1 in Albany, NY. Mr. Jobe is survived by his daughter-in-law, Dianne Lewis of Medusa, NY; a granddaughter, Cynthia Jobe-Parker of Australia and two great granddaughters, Asley Jobe-Parker and Daisy Jobe-Parker both of Australia.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Jobe was predeceased by a son, Gilbert Jobe, Jr. in 1989; two sisters, Helen Keiren and Jane Bence and two brother, Lynn and Wilbur Jobe. Graveside services and burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the South Amenia Cemetery, South Amenia Road, Wassaic, NY with Rev. Zora Ficarra-Cheatham officiating.
