Glenda K. Brock, 72, of Murray Ky. , and formerly of Murphysboro, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018, in Murray, KY. Glenda was born January 10, 1946, in Saint Louis, MO, a daughter to the late Roy and Norma C. (Gibbs) Hern.

She was united in marriage to Dennis C. Brock in Waterloo, IL, on September 30, 1967; Dennis survives of Murray, KY. Glenda was a graduate of Valmeyer High School and was a member class of 1964. She attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and graduated from S.I.U.C.

in 1968 with a Bachelor’s of Science, English and library science. She was employed as a teacher and librarian in the Murphysboro district 186 schools from 1968 until her retirement in 2003. During her employment with Murphysboro District 186 schools, she served as a Jr. High cheerleader sponsor and the Beta Club sponsor.

She dearly loved home decorating and her family and many friends. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 3, 2018, at the Berean Christian Church in Murphysboro; Rev. Troy Humphrey of the Berean Christian Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the church. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Berean Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Brock of Murray, KY; one daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Jared Rosa of Murray, KY; three grandchildren, Max, Oliver and Keegan; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Gloria Goldschmidt, Sharon and Larry Caswell, and Shawn Christman; three brothers, Gary, Larry and Roger Hern; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
