Glen M Gehee Sr , November 05, 1938 — November 26, 2018

Glenn Sanfort McGehee Sr., age 80, of Russellville, Ky saw the face of his Lord November 26, 2018. He was a Todd County native, born November 5, 1938 to the late Clay Sanfort McGehee and Clemmie Willis McGehee. He was a member of Crittenden Drive Church of Christ where he served as Elder for 26 years.

He was a Graduate of Western Kentucky University where he received numerous degrees including his Rank 1. He taught school in Adairville for 7 years, was principal for Burgin High, in Burgin Kentucky, then served as principal of the Russellville Middle School for many years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris Jenkins McGehee; children, Glenn McGehee Jr. (Leslie), Kelly Jenkins (Elmer); and five grandchildren, Houston McGehee, Mattie McGehee, Sutton McGehee, Matthew Jenkins and Ethan Jenkins.

He is also survived by two sisters, Glenna Dorris (Freeman) and Lathell Dymacek (David); and brother in law, Vernon Addison. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Walter McGehee (Thelma), Ray McGehee (Virginia), sisters, Sylvia Moore (Gordon), Martha Moore (Ralph), Ruth Sweeney (David), Nellie Browning (Eddie), Lorene McPherson (J.W.), and Patsy Addison. He above all, was known for his love for the Lord, love for his family, and church family.

While his accolades and career accomplishments were a sense of pride, they only served his ultimate goal of having the opportunities to have relationships with so many people with whom he could give and receive encouragement, love them and share the Lord. His life can be described well from Scripture. Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever”.

Funeral Services for Glenn McGehee were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Crittenden Drive Church of Christ with Glenn McGehee Jr. officiating and burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Lewisburg. Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday at the Church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Crittenden Drive Church of Christ Benevolence Fund, envelopes will be available at Sanders Funeral Home and the Church.
