She was born in South Union on January 20, 1922 to the late Alonzo and Ollie Mae (York) Henderson. She was a Baptist and formerly worked for the Department of the Navy in Washington DC and is preceded in death by her husband Gerald May, brothers Maurice Gene Henderson and Raymond Lee Henderson, half brothers Leo Henderson, Dean E. Henderson and Clarence Henderson.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Oleta Henderson was buried in Auburn Cemetery and there will be no services at this time. Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
