Melanie Gayle Allen Mordecai, age 52 of Adairville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a Logan County native born July 14, 1966 to William “Billy” Allen and Melba Cowan Allen. She was a Clerk and worked in Accounts Receivable at Guardian of Truth Book Store and a member of Living Word Church.

She was a Western Kentucky graduate, where she received her Master’s degree in English and French and she was a Kentucky Life Insurance agent. She also loved children, especially her nephews and nieces, animals, books and loved to travel. She is survived by: The Love of her Life, her husband ~ David Mordecai Parents ~ William “Billy” Allen and Melba Cowan Allen ~ Adairville, KY 1 Sister ~ Lana Allen Shoulders and husband, Max ~ Adairville, KY 2 Nephews ~ Chad Shoulders and Douglas Shoulders 1 Niece ~ Anna Shoulders 3 Great Nieces Funeral Services for Melanie Gayle Allen Mordecai will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Living Word Church in Adairville with Pastor Ken Cowan officiating with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville.

Visitation at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday at Living Word Church from 9:00 am until the service time of 11:00 am. Memorial Donations may be made to Cancer Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
