Gloria’s Obituary Gloria Brown, 81, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Gloria was born September 26, 1937 in Verden, Oklahoma to Cecil and Wanda Ely. She married Dale Brown on May 10, 1958 in Duncan, Oklahoma and later that year they made their home in Pampa. Dale preceded her in death on January 24, 2017.

She was a homemaker, and a wonderful wife and mother, who always took care of her family. Gloria volunteered at Highland General Hospital and Harrington Cancer Center for several years. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo at the Moose Lodge on Friday nights, and loved doing jig saw puzzles.

She has put over 1000 puzzles together over the years. She was a Baptist and loved being “Granny” and “Meme” to her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parent, a sister, Ruth Black, and a grandson, Ziriax Nix.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Jennings and husband Travis of Pampa; her son, Charles Nix, Sr. of Pampa; two grandson, Charles “Randy” Nix and wife Chandra of Carthage, and Kaydan Stidham of Pampa; two sisters, Jean Hand of Shawnee, OK. , and Barbara Phillips of Oklahoma City, OK. ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be made to a charity of choice.
