Obituary for Gloria Rosemarie Walter Gloria Rosemarie Walter, age 80, of Madison Heights, passed away September 13, 2018. Gloria was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, making her way to Michigan in 1957. An active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak, Gloria’s favorite hobbies included photography (especially at weddings), gardening, and spending time with her family.

She especially cherished spending time and attending events with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When it came to her family, “the more, the merrier” was Gloria’s attitude, and so she particularly enjoyed the time around the holidays when everyone could be together. Gloria really loved her husband, Bob, and her family will remember her as someone who thought of everybody but herself.

Gloria was the beloved wife of Robert Walter. Loving mother of Maureen (Peter) Walsh and the late Michael Ridge. Dear grandmother of Christopher Szerdi, Jeffery (Amie) Szerdi, David Ridge, Sydney (Austin) Walsh-Harper, Jackie (Patrick) Brooks, Kayla Church, and Winnifred Walsh.

Dear great-grandmother of David, Ryland, Liliana, Evan, Layla, Zeke, Levi, and Valayna. A memorial gathering for Gloria will be held on Monday, September 17, 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service, 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 202 E. 5th St., Royal Oak, 48067. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated.
