Gregory W. Sawmiller Jr. May 20, 1940 – February 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Gregory W. “Bud” Sawmiller, Jr. 78 of Syracuse passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Gregory, Sr. and Margaret Sawmiller. Greg was a Master Craftsman Mason and worked in the construction industry.

He graduated from St. Anthony of Padua High School and attended Mohawk Valley College, and served in the National Guard. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joanne; his son, Greg (Debbie); his twin grandchildren, the joy of his life, Sarah and Michael; his sister, Margaret Johnson (James Smith), several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Mary Pat Tierney (Kiernan) and niece Kelly Tierney.

Calling hours will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 4782 W. Seneca Turnpike from 9 to 10am, Thursday, February 28, 2019 with a Mass to follow at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Hospice of CNY, 900 Seventh North St. Liverpool, NY. Please do an act of kindness in Bud’s memory.
