H. LAMAR STEEN, age 86, of Washington CH, formerly of South Charleston, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 7:35 a.m. at Grant Medical Center as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 8, 1932 in Madison County to Floyd Sherman and Goldie Velva Knisley Steen. He was a 1950 graduate of Ross High School.

Lamar was previously employed at Landmark in Columbus. He spent his years growing up in the South Solon Church of Christ in Christian Union. Lamar was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He enjoyed watching Fox News, golfing, and being with his family and grandchildren. Lamar was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Nelma Faye Steen; and siblings, Opal Dickey, Mae Steen, and Floyd “Junior” Steen. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie O. Steen, whom he married on July 15, 2015; children, Dan (Jane) Steen, and Debra (Dan) Roach; grandchildren, Matt Steen, Jedd (Adria) Steen, and Savanna (Jesse) Myer; great-grandchildren, Morgan (Jessie Payne) Reeb, Logan Steen, and Abby and Aiden Gabbard; great-great-grandson, Jensen Payne; step-children, Vickie (Larry) Lyons, Brian (Ruby) Lane, Matt (Jamie) Lane, and Rebecca (David) Wiggenhorn; and special step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Lane.

Also surviving are several other step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Grace Community Church, 7224 E. Main St., South Solon, OH 43153, with Rev. Bruce Sigman officiating with burial to follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in South Charleston.

Family and friends may visit at the church on Sunday afternoon from 3-5:00 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.
