Obituary for Harold Krebs Harold Gottlieb Krebs, age 79, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington. Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home.
Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Hospice of Washington County. Online condolences may be sent for Harold’s family through the web at www.
jonesfh.com Harold was born June 8, 1939, in Riverside, Iowa, the son of Richard Charles and Marjorie Ann (Phillips) Krebs. He attended school in Iowa City and graduated from Iowa City High in 1957. Harold was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Swartzendruber on October 12, 1964, in Raytown, Missouri.
Harold and Dorothy lived in Iowa City before moving to the farm where Harold was born, in Riverside, Iowa. Harold was employed at the Iowa City Post Office where he worked for 27 years as a mail sorter and clerk until his retirement in 1992. He served five years in the Iowa National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Krebs of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Peggy (David) Miller of Riverside, Iowa; son, Richard (Nicole) Krebs of Lone Tree, Iowa; son, Randy (Andrea) Krebs of Gowrie, Iowa; daughter, Sandra Krebs of Ainsworth, Iowa; daughter, Becky (Alan) Lovetinksy of Washington, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one sister, Rosalie (Gene) Hancock of Iowa City, Iowa.
