Obituary for Thomas Miller Thomas J. “T.J.” Miller, age 69, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Celebration of life services and interment will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for Paws & More Animal Shelter.

He attended school in Washington. In his youth, T.J. worked for the Peace Corps. After returning to Washington, he worked as a truck driver and as a cook for various local restaurants.

He enjoyed painting, the outdoors and he loved animals. He is survived by his sisters: Janet Kaalberg and husband Ambrose of Ladora, IA; Diedre Zehr of Washington, IA; Phyllis Klaus and husband Bill of Corydon, IA; and Nancy Miller of Santa Barbara, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Steen; and brothers: Bill “Red” Miller and Johnny Miller.
