Obituary for Harold R. Hughes ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA – Harold R. Hughes, 81, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his home. He was born in Burton Ford, Virginia; son of the late Joseph Leonard and Margaret Naomi Williams Hughes.

He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Wayne Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hughes; three daughters, Sherry Pruitt and husband, Dennis of St. Paul, Virginia, Janie Stidham and husband, Buford of Castlewood, Virginia, and Candi Needham and husband, Toby of Appalachia, Virginia; two sisters, Phyllis Edwards of St. Paul, Virginia and Doris Powers of St. Paul, Virginia; three brothers, Pete Hughes and wife, Bonnie of Aurora, Illinois, Gerald Hughes and wife, Peggy of Aurora, Illinois, and Robert Hughes of St. Paul, Virginia; special friend, Ralph Sluss of St. Paul, Virginia; special pet, Daisy; two special nieces, Janet Hughes and Pam Culver; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service and Interment for Harold R. Hughes will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia.

Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Shannon Hall, Toby Needham, Seth Jessee, Matthew Stidham, Ryder Stidham, Jared Deary, Daniel Lell, Jonathan Browning, Austin Lell, and Alec Slemp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dante Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 668, Dante, Virginia 24237.
