Obituary for Betty Jo Snipes ST. PAUL, VIRGINIA – Betty Jo Snipes, 79, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home. She was born in Trammel, Virginia; daughter of the late Reed and Ruby Crabtree Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Snipes and her guardian, Kate Franks. She dedicated her life to the Lord on June 9, 2017. She was a loving mother and grandmother to many and was a resident of St. Paul, Virginia for thirty eight years.
She is survived by her four daughters, Teresa Ann Farmer of Dickenson County, Virginia, Sharon Frances Smith of St. Paul, Virginia, Debbie Lois Nickels of St. Paul, Virginia and Vicky Lynn Horner and husband, Kevin of Castlewood, VA; three sons, Johnny Reed Snipes and wife, Shelly of Castlewood, Virginia, Kenneth Ray Snipes Jr. and Randy Lee Snipes of Bristol, Virginia; two sisters, Sadie Ruth Payne of Tazewell, Virginia and Carol Pierson of Fauquien County, Virginia; three brothers, Junior Martin of Kingsport, Tennessee, Don Martin of Tennessee and Bob Martin of Clintwood, Virginia; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Betty Jo Snipes will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Darrell Milgrim and Rev.
Ernie Addington officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Chris Snipes, Matthew Nickels, Tyler Snipes, Joe Horner, Logan Horner and Kevin Horner. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
