Obituary for Frank Tompa Jr. COEBURN, VIRGINIA – Frank Tompa, Jr., 82, died Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. He was born in Dante, Virginia; son of the late Frank, Sr. and Rosa Deskins Tompa. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-six years, Delores Tompa; three sisters, Betty Castle, Jane Phillips, and Julia “Toots” Cook; and three brothers, Bob Tompa, Johnny Tompa, and Billy Bartee.

He was a retired coal miner and was a member of U.M.W.A. Local #1259. He was a member of Coeburn Masonic Lodge #97 A.F. and A.M., Royal Arch Chapter #79, Commandery #21 in Norton, Virginia, a member of Kazim Shrine and Scottish Rite of Roanoke, Virginia, Eastern Star #153 of Coeburn, Virginia, and was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his daughter, Tabatha Tompa and fiancé, Randy H. Lane of Coeburn, Virginia; two special people who was like a daughter and son, Lara Bias Kennedy and Jarad Bias; three special cousins who were like sisters, Peggy Hartsock Renfro, Mary Ruth Jones, and Judy Hartsock Cody; six special friends who were like brothers, Fred Bush, Clyde Bush, Logan Bush, Danny Bush, Dave Bush, and Offeral Bush, Jr.; several nieces and nephews, his feline pet, Sunni; and his canine pet, Rusty. Funeral Services for Frank Tompa, Jr. will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Pastor Carroll Childress officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia.

Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Randy Lane, Ricky Tompa, Eddie Gullett, Jess Johnson, Tony Bush, Mark Logan, Eddie Bush, and Paul Kennedy. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm May 6, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.

A Masonic Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Sunday by the Coeburn Masonic Lodge #97 A.F. and A.M. The family wants to give special thanks to caregiver, Michael Willis and all the wonderful girls from Intrepid Home Health.
