Harold T. VanScoder, age 75, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at his brother’s residence in Upper Sandusky. Harold was born on December 28, 1942 in North Baltimore, Ohio, to Thomas H. and Beulah (Proxmire) VanScoder, both of whom are deceased. He is survived by his siblings: Rose (James) McLaughlin of Upper Sandusky, Robert (Nancy) VanScoder of Upper Sandusky, Lucille (Jimmie) Stone of Nevada, and John (Carissa) VanScoder of Carey, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother Franklin N. VanScoder. Harold retired from the Olen Corporation in Upper Sandusky, and before that the McCarthy Quarry, where he had worked for many years. Before that he worked for Herring Farms and Miller’s Nursery.

For hobbies he enjoyed working on cars and fishing in his younger years. Funeral services for Harold T. VanScoder will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Doug Pummell officiating.

Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery. Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time on Wednesday, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorials may be made to the Harold T. VanScoder Memorial Fund and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave.
