Harvey Leo Hess, 79, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019. He was born on December 6, 1939, in Broken Arrow, to Harvey William and Laura Genieva Hess. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 12, at 1:30 P.M. at Ray of Hope Church in Comanche, with Pastor Ronny Bernard officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home. Harvey graduated from Broken Arrow High School. He was employed as a dock worker in the trucking industry.

He loved to go fishing when he was younger. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. He worked and sang in the Prison Ministry in Oklahoma City.

He enjoyed all sports, especially OU Sooner sports. Harvey is survived by his children, Rhonda and husband Michael Cuzzort of Comanche, Sandy and husband Matt Steadman of Blanchard, and Mickey and wife Shelley Haslip of Bokoshe; grandchildren, Wesley Allan and wife Kristen Sheppard, Amanda Sheppard, Peyton and husband Roy Ramsey, Justin and wife Ashley Steadman, Sean and wife Amanda Steadman, and Hunter and wife Amber Haslip; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Eugene Hess and William Joseph Hess; and best friend, Joe Haslip. He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Verda Helen Mallory, Velma Jo Shelton, Dorothy Elizabeth Duncan, Donna Sue Neely, Marjorie Faye Metcalf, and Loretta Hess; and two brothers, Robert Neil Hess and Leon Dean Hess.
