Mrs. Hazel Dickerson passed away on October 11, 2018 at the Providence Horizon House. Hazel was born on June 11, 1929 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Ben and Carrie (Green) Gray. She moved to Chicago, Illinois and married Eddie Dickerson.

Hazel joined the Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church, serving as an usher for several years and was also employed as a taxi driver up until her retirement. Hazel had also lived in Mobile, Alabama for ten years before deciding to move to Alaska. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, daughter, Gloria Summers, Mobile, AL; sister, Patricia Gray, Anchorage, AK; sister-in-law, Flora Gray; brother-in-laws, Ellis and Clarence; granddaughter, Wanda (Tim) Vear; grandson, Aurelius Summers, Mobile, AL; great grandchildren, Krystal and Kiara Summers and many extended loving relatives and dear friends.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Carrie Gray; daughter, Carrie Mae Dickerson; siblings, Robert, Katie, Annie, Mildred, Beatrice, Dorothy and Steve. A sister and daughters special thank you for those who have shared a friendship with my mother or sister, be it good or bad times, we thank you. We will always remember the times we shared, as I know you will.

Mrs. Hazel always talked about her friends so I know you were dear to her. A special thank you also goes out to the amazing staff with Providence Hospice, as well as the Providence Horizon House. Again, I say “Thank you” and God Bless.
