Helen Bellum, 99, of Beaver Township, passed away early Tuesday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville following an unexpected illness. Born in Beaver Township, January 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Mary (Chyko) Miller and spent her entire life in Beaver Township. Helen had worked as a presser in several local garment factories.

She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, Weston, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Beaver Township Fire Company. She enjoyed going to yard sales and picking huckleberries. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband John A. Bellum, who passed away in 1972; two brothers Peter and George Miller; and a sister Eleanor Fedder.

Surviving are three children John A. “Jack” Bellum, Carol Austin and her husband John, and Ronnie G. Bellum, all of Beaver Township; grandchildren Jeff (Lida) Bellum, Jill (Frank) Kapes, Craig (Caroline) Bellum, Tricia Longenberger, Tracey (Scott) Musselman, B.J. (Shannon) Austin, and Tiffany Bellum; step-grandchildren Angie (Keith) Crossley and Bobby Musselman; great-grandchildren Zack (Kayla) Bellum, Luke, Garrett, Wyatt, and Logan Bellum, Tyler and Brittany Musselman, Kristie (Mike) Storper, T.J. and Josh Longenberger, Erin (Bobby) Hunsecker, and Ethan and James Bellum; step-great-grandchildren Stone Keller, Cannon Crossley, Kaleb and Kaitlyn Musselman; great-great-grandchildren Mackenzie Musselman, Laura, Sophia, and Jack Storper, Ava Bellum, Ryder Hunsecker, Blake Scandle, and special boy Matthew John Scandle. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 11 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (West) 1265 Rock Glen Road, Rock Glen, with the Rev. Patrick McDowell officiating.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Weston. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9 am until the time of the service. Online condolences can be entered and more information is available at www.
