Obituary for Herbert J. Hartz Herbert J. Hartz, 87, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born April 2, 1931 to the late Aloysius and Agnes Hartz. Herbert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Berlin from 1952-1954.

He worked at Bristol Meyers for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Good Shephard Catholic Church. Herbert and Ruth enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth V. (Gilles) Hartz; sons, Dan Hartz of Newburgh, Tony (Martha) Hartz of Evansville, Greg (Penny) Hartz of Port Charlotte, Florida, John Hartz of Evansville; daughter, Kathy (Ronnie) Beasley of Newburgh; brother, Kenny (Rita K.) Hartz; sisters, Cecelia Crane, Marcella Yarbray, Millie Royster, Patty Doogs; grandchildren, Karie Douglass, Leanne Emmons, Ronnie (Sloane) Beasley, Matt Hartz, Mike (Kara) Hartz, Rachel (Aaron) Stoltz, Emily (Austin) Ellis, Lynnsey (Billy) Harden, Zach Hartz, Katryna (James) Murray, Brandon (Amelia) Hartz; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Rachels Roberta Gorman, Arlene Hartz and brother, Robert Hartz. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 2:00-7:00 pm at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 31, 2018 with Father Zach Eteinne officiating at Good Shephard Catholic Church, 2301 N Stockwell Rd. Evansville, IN 47715. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rights.
