Obituary for Howard Delacy Davis Howard “Smoochie” Davis, age 79, of Surgoinsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at his home. He was a son of the late Mack and Betty Foster Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lucille Davis; sister, Maxine Trent; brothers, Jimmy and Billy Davis; and grandson, Russell Case.

He was a heavy equipment operator for over 55 years and enjoyed giving everyone nicknames, spinning tales, laughing, and joking around. Survivors include his children, Troy Davis (Penny), Denise Fugate (Randall), Michael Davis (Dorothy), Annette Absher (Jerry), Misti Davis (Jimmy), and Kristi Brooks (Tug); 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Brother Steve Davis and Brother Neil Lane officiating. The graveside service will follow in Christians Bend Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.
