Obituary for Howard Egbert Horn Howard Egbert Horn, 81, of Mentor, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Burton Health Care Center in Burton. Born Mar.

7, 1937 in Ashtabula, he had been a lifetime resident of Lake County. Howard retired from Lake Erie Iron. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a former member of Willoughby Hills United Methodist Church.

Howard was an actor in the Mentor Teachers Association plays and a member of a singing group. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Mentor High football and Kirtland sports and loved golfing and water sports and was a black belt in karate. He was well loved by his family.

Howard was the loving husband to Mary Ann (nee Clark) Horn; father of Jill (Ken) Hart and Julie (Gary) Lewis; grandfather of Chelsea (Jerry) Rubino; Chloe and Cameron Hart, Owen, Kate and Anna Lewis; brother of Nina Patton; and uncle of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Harriet Horn; brother, William (Donna) Horn; and brother-in-law Robert Patton. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., Mentor (Route 615, north of Route 2).

Private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, 69 Pearl St., Painesville OH 44077. To leave condolences for the family or light a memorial candle, visit www.
