Howard L. Wiles, 85, Falls Creek, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home. Born July 27, 1932 in Schaffer, WV, he was the son of the late James and Rhoda (Spessert) Wiles. On June 23, 1955, he married Rosella “Rose” Courson in DuBois.

She survives. Howard retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He worked for various companies including the DuBois Housing Authority, Dunlap Lawn and Garden, and Schaffner Furniture.

In addition, he enjoyed upholstering, woodworking, fishing, playing cards, traveling on many trips with his camper, square dancing, working on home improvement projects, making things for his great-grandchildren, and spending time with his family. He attended the First United Methodist Church.

Howard is survived by two children, Nancy L. (Edward) Shaffer, Tucson, AZ and Edwin L. (Jan) Wiles, Virginia; two grandchildren, Heidi Lynn Tomicich and Charity Ann Morris; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Abi Rose Morris, and Kaitlyn and Michael Tomicich, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jaunita and Hazel, and a brother, Alvin.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, July 1st from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday, July 2nd from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. Following Monday’s visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Neil Shindledecker and Rev. John Emigh officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Bucktail Council, 209 1st St., DuBois, PA 15801 or to the First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Long Ave. , DuBois.
