Howard’s Obituary Howard Leonard Centers, Sr., age 82 of Tazewell, TN and formerly of Blair, KY, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 23, 2019. He was born in Anco, KY on April 20, 1936 to Fredrick F. and Ethel M. Allen Centers. Howard was a retired coal miner from Scotia Coal Company.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Day Centers; parents, Fred and Ethel Centers; son, Howard Leonard Centers, Jr., brothers, Fred, Jr., Pete and JB Centers; and sisters, Wilma Andrews and Lillian Lethgo. He is survived by his children, Shawn Centers of Tazewell, TN, Kim Centers Bowling of Cumberland, and Linda Centers Brooks and husband, Roger, of Jacksboro, TN; sisters, Mary Madden of Melvindale, MI, Bea Rakowski of Johnson City, TN and Gloria Wilkinson of Powell, TN; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; good friend, Kris Parrott; and a host of other family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at First Christian Church, 110 Freeman Street, Cumberland, KY on Saturday, April 13, 2019, between 1:00-3:00 pm.
