Zelmer’s Obituary Zelmer C. “Pete” Van Hoosier, Jr., 52, of Loyall, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019, at his residence. Born July 5, 1966 in Cincinnati, OH, he worked in the housekeeping department at the Harlan App. Reg.

Hospital for 27 years and was the vice president of the United Steel Workers for the Harlan ARH for 26 years. He believed in the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelmer C. Van Hoosier, Sr. and Lillie Johnson Van Hoosier.

Pete is survived by his wife, Tracey Williams Van Hoosier, Dayhoit; one son, Scotty Williams, Dayhoit; sister-in-law, Sherrell Whisenant; two nephews and two nieces he loved dearly, Sammy, Miranda, Grace and Braydan Watson, all of Alabama. He had cousins he loved dearly, most important his friends, if you were around him for one minute you were laughing so hard it hurt because the smile on his face would light the room up. He loved everyone.

Visitation will be Monday from 2 until 9 p.m. in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, in the chapel of the Loyall Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Long officiating. Burial will be in the Uplands Cemetery at Hulen with friends and family serving as pallbearers.

Loyall Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.
