James’ Obituary Doug Myers, age 68 of Somerset, KY and formerly of Benham, KY, departed for heaven on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born to the late John and Etta Mae Burnette Myers in Benham, KY on March 07, 1951. Doug started working for US Steel in 1971 as a coal miner, electrician, welder and mechanic and was the owner of Doug’s Tires in Benham and truly loved to work and help others.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Carl Myers, Charles “Chalkie” Myers and William Myers; and sisters, Dorothy Necessary, Pauline “Polly” Myers, Thelma Mays, Laura “Lou” Johnson, and Sue Myers. He will be missed dearly by his children, Brian (Chanda) Myers and Brandy (Jeremy) Bullock all of Somerset, KY; brother, Johnny Myers of Morgan City, LA; sisters, Reverend Mae Bailey of Lynch and Glenna (John) Lindsey of Orlando, FL; 4 grandchildren, Braiden Myers, Riley Myers, Macy Bullock and Maddy Bullock; ex-wife, who has remained a close friend, Karen Harris of Somerset, KY; and a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY on Sunday, June 02, 2019, between the hours of 12 and 4 pm.

Funeral services will follow at 4 pm with Brother Jason Ivey officiating. Interment will be in the Benham Cemetery, Benham, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. You may leave online condolences for the family at www.
