Hunter’s Obituary A memorial ceremony honoring, remembering, and celebrating the life of Hunter Sims Elliott will be held 11 AM Friday, March 1, 2019 at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore. Hunter passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at his home in Catoosa. He was 34.

Born August 27, 1984 in Texarkana, Texas, Hunter was the son of Mark William and Ida Jean (Sims) Elliott. He grew up in Texas, Arkansas, and Las Vegas and moved to Broken Arrow in the 2nd Grade. Hunter graduated Broken Arrow High School and was member of the Broken Arrow Pride Marching Band.

Hunter loved guns and participated in many speed pistol competitions. Following high school, Hunter attended OSU Culinary Institute in Okmulgee where he graduated with honors prior to pursuing a career as a professional chef. Hunter loved video games, online streaming, guns and his pets.

Surviving family members include his parents: Mark and Ida Elliott; his grandfather, Russell Sims; his aunts, Patricia Sims and Denetia Connell; and his uncle, John Sims. Hunter was preceded in death by is maternal grandmother, Betty Sims; his paternal grandparents, Holderness and Mildred Elliott; and his aunt, Elaine Sims.
