Ingrid Lynn Leatham Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at the age of 64 in Salem, Oregon on October 6th, 2018. Ingrid was born June 8, 1954 in Alameda, California. She moved to Tremonton, Utah and settled in Ogden, Utah.

Ingrid enjoyed spending time with her family, hiking, being in nature, painting, yoga, rock-hounding at the ocean, playing the piano, exploring new places, learning, reading, and she excelled in school. Ingrid graduated as Valedictorian from Bear River High School in 1972. She graduated with honors from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 and then received a Master’s Degree with honors from Purdue University in 2002.

Ingrid had a passion for teaching. She was a Professor of Design Graphics Engineering at Weber State University for 10 years specializing in 3D modeling, architectural drafting, and graphics for interior design. During her years teaching at Weber State, she wrote manuals and course materials, served as Program Coordinator for DGET, was professor of Project Lead the Way, taught technology curriculum to high school teachers from across the country, was an industry trainer of Computer-Aided-Design (CAD).

Ingrid was an active part of many other community projects including helping design the Salomon Center in downtown Ogden as well as the Weber State University campus remodeling and design construction project. Ingrid was a loving, beautiful, graceful, intellectual, accomplished, courageous, hardworking, environmentally conscious, creative, and humorous person who believed in the good of others. She encouraged and empowered everyone she knew and had a way of convincing those around her that one can achieve anything with commitment, courage, and self-awareness.

She had a passion for the women’s rights movement and always encouraged women to not settle for anything other than equality. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and in all whom she inspired. There are no words to express how much she is missed.

We love you beautiful momma. Rest in peace sweetheart! Ingrid is survived by her 4 children: Aurela Adams (Tim), Shawna (Adam), Aaron Adams, and Chance Allen; 3 grandchildren who she loved dearly: Brynlee, Malik, Bastian, Brady; her brother, Erich (Sarah); and five sisters: Cheryl Pinder (Curt), Lisa Karr, Brenda Burns, Michelle Markeson (John), Annie Leatham-Smith (Steven), and all of her nieces and nephews.

p Ingrid is preceded in death by her mother, Erna Zochbauer, her father, Neal Halverson Leatham, and her sister Gisella Berger. A celebration of Ingrid’s life will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Perry Stake Center, 685 West 2250 South, Perry, UT 84302.
