Irene Brown December 14, 1942 – January 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Irene Mae Galloway Brown, the daughter of the late Aaron Galloway Sr and Annie Bell Galloway, was born in Rockingham County on December 14, 1942. After a long battle with illness, she slept away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamamce-Caswell. She was the wife of 54 years to the late Robert “Dooley” Brown who preceded her in death.

Irene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Irene was known for her fashion and her cooking, she had many other interest including spoiling her children and grandchildren, gardening, farming, sewing, and the love of softball. Irene leaves to cherish her memories to her sons, Darryl Brown (Michell) of Rockingham County and Julius Brown (Chandrika) of Alamance County; six grandchildren: LaKira Santos (DaQuan) of Mecklenburg County, Dashelle Stovall of Guilford County, Shawon Brown(Samantha) of Alamance County, JessiKa Brown of Rockingham County, Jadda Jefferies, Jhase Jefferies and Cemia Brown all of Alamance County.

Two great-grandchildren Harper Santos and Christian Isler. One sister, Nannie Bell Watson of Guilford County, two brothers, Leroy Galloway, Sr. and James Bernard Galloway Sr. (Cheryl)both of Rockingham County and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Irene was preceded in death by two brothers: Aaron Galloway Jr., J.B. Galloway, one sister Shirley Benton and a niece Brenda Galloway.

The Brown family would like to thank her Hospice nurse Carla Haith and the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell for their kind and compassionate care for Mrs. Irene during her illness.
