Halko, Irene F. Cogan Halko, age 73, of Derby, beloved wife of George C. Halko, passed away suddenly on July 23, 2018 in her residence with her loving family by her side. Irene was born on August 16, 1944 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Ralph Sr. and Arline Sharpe Cogan. She was employed by the Jewish Home for the Elderly as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and enjoyed painting, flowers and spending time with family, especially her cherished husband, George.

In addition to her beloved husband, George, of 41 years, Irene is survived by four sons, Ronald Ryan of Black Rock, Raymond Ryan of Phoenix, AZ, Randall Ryan of Bridgeport and Matthew Ryan and wife Donna of Shelton, four daughters, Colleen Kovac of Shelton, Doreen Baye and husband Robert of Milford, Laureen Wheeler of Ansonia and Georgine Ryan of Derby, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Ralph Cogan of Beacon Falls, one sister, Corrine Cogan of Torrington and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 6:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford officiated by Rev. Edward Rawls.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home.
