Obituary for Irene Hester Felkey Dateline: Godfrey Irene Hester Felkey, 89, died at 12:22 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018. Born May 13, 1928 in Kane, IL, she was the daughter of Arthur and Opal F. (Richards) McConnaughay. She attended Emmanuel Free Methodist Church and loved to garden and do needlework.

She enjoyed her home and spending time with grandchildren. She had been a resident at The Fountains for six happy years. On January 29, 1947 she married Wilbur T. Felkey in St. Charles, IL.

He preceded her in death on September 29, 2002. Surviving is a daughter, Linda Bemis (Gerald) of Alton, two sons, Bill Felkey (Judy) of Auburn, AL, and Mark Felkey (Ann) of Colorado Springs, CO, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one brother, Arthur McConnaughay of Phoenix, AZ, and two sisters, Eva Peterson of Batavia, IL and Esther Flodstrom (John) of Wisconsin. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Bemis, and three brothers, Arthur, Gene and Robert McConnaughay.
