Irene May Heysek, 94, of Masonic Village, formerly of Parma, Ohio passed away on June 3, 2018. Born to Anton and Louise (Zelenka) Tomcal on March 12, 1924 in Owosso Michigan. She was the loving wife of the late George W. Heysek for 67 years.

Irene graduated from Jane Addams Vocational High School in Cleveland, Ohio where she learned skills that served her throughout her life. She worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell during WWII, later in the offices of Sheriff Cold Storage and finally a bank teller at Citizen’s Federal. Her sewing abilities were unparalleled and resulted in her personal wardrobe, clothing for the boys, shirts and suits for George and gorgeous wedding dresses for family members.

She also enjoyed all manner of hand work, producing beautiful knitted wear, cross stitched pictures and crocheted items. She also loved to read and travel. Irene is survived by sons William married to Donna of Maytown, PA and Thomas married to Cynthia of Atlanta, GA; her two granddaughters Gina Heysek and Lea (Eric) Kehler; and two great granddaughters Stella Heysek-Breese and Vivian Kehler.

A memorial service will be held at Sheetz’s Funeral Home in Mount Joy, PA on Friday June 22nd at 5 PM. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:30 PM until 5 PM. Interment will follow at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
