HUBBARD Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for Irene Katherine Hedberg, 100, who died Saturday afternoon July 28, 2018 at Countryside at the Elmwood Assisted Living. She was born April 24, 1918 in Youngstown, a daughter of Aloysius and Anna Rokita Makara.

Irene was a seamstress and shoe sales lady at McKelvey’s in Youngstown for 22 years and was also a seamstress for several dance schools. Irene was a member of the Bessemer Women’s Club, the Bessemer Senior Citizens Club and had enjoyed playing Bingo. Her husband, Leroy Hedberg, whom she married May 8, 1965, died January 23, 2000.

She leaves two sisters, Rosemary Chestnut and Barbara Fullerman and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leroy, two brothers, Z. Albert and Edward Makara and a sister Theresa Kuzman. Family and friends may call on Wednesday August 1, 2018, one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home. Please visit www.
