He was born October 7, 1948 in Springdale, Arkansas to John and Maudie (Henson) Mounce. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, J.R. Mounce, J.D. Mounce, Lee Mounce, and Otis Mounce; and three sisters, Grace, Leona, and Imogene.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Mounce; his son, Shannon Mounce; one sister, Lena Cailco (Bo) ; and two brothers, Melvin Mounce (Betty) and Bill Mounce (Josie). A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
