Jack Lee Moorhead was born on August 8, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Willard and Betty Moorhead of Adel, Iowa. He passed away February 26, 2019 in Barefoot Bay, Florida. He graduated from Adel High School in 1969.

He was then drafted into the Navy, where he spent 4 six month tours in Vietnam. He then enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1977. Jack married Cindy Vokes in July of 1974 and they had two daughters: Erika and Erin.

Jack received an associate’s degree from Grossmont College in El Cajon, California, in small business management. He joined the U.S. Postal Service in 1979 where he spent 33 years of service. Including his 7 years of military time he retired with 40 years of service.

Jack retired as the postmaster of Knoxville Iowa. For the last six years he lived in Barefoot Bay Florida where he enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his friends. Jack is survived by his children, Erika (Mark) Shepherd of Adel, Iowa and Erin (Chuck) Christianson of Waukee, Iowa; and five grandchildren: Abigail, Avery, Emma, Nicholas, Evy, Mike Connelly and family.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Willard and Betty; brother, Larry (Bean) and his sister, Cindi Ann Falk. Jack always had a smile on his face and a beer in his hand. If you talked to him for 5 minutes, you had a friend for life.
