Jackie Lee Branson, Sr., 74, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Courtyard Healthcare Center, Goshen, Indiana. Jackie was born on September 5, 1944 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Ira Branson and Edna (Schafer) Branson and was raised in St. Joseph, Michigan where he attended St. Joseph High School. He proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1967, receiving the National Defense Service Medal.

Jackie previously worked at the South Bend Lathe Company and AM General Mishawaka, along with working as an automotive spray painter. The joy of his life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a huge fan of Notre Dame sports and the Chicago Cubs.

He also enjoyed watching the AMC Movie Channel, The Price is Right, and going to “the boat”. Jackie is survived by his four sons, Jack (Becky) Branson, Jr. of South Bend, Lyle Branson of Watervliet, MI, Derrick Branson of South Bend, and Eric Branson of Watervliet, MI; five grandchildren, Paige, Chelsea, Isaac, Brittany, and Seth; and four great-grandchildren, Noah, Micah, Levi, Kalani, and one on the way. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Riverview Cemetery, 2925 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Palmer Funeral Homes—River Park is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 620 W.
