James Arthur Simpson passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018 at the age of 87after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Jim was born on November 17, 1930 to Annie & Arthur Simpson. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War and very active with the 865th Army group where he enjoyed the annual reunions that took him to many cities around the country.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and Shriners. In his later years, he was involved with the Shriners in the transportation department.

He took pride in transporting sick children and their families to the Shriners Hospital in Erie, PA. He was an avid musician and loved big band music. He played the trumpet in the band Commander and Crew.

He was a sports enthusiast. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns & Ohio State Buckeyes. Jim loved dogs and: not only had several over the years but loved to babysit his “grand dogs”.

Jim is survived by his step daughters, Suzanne Kurtz (Richard Goodrich) and Florence Bonacci, granddaughter Rachelle Nieves (Jose), nephew Dr. Carrington Mason (Kari) and great nephew Brennan Mason. He also leaves behind his beloved grand dogs Caljie and Clyde. He was preceded in death by his partner & soulmate Frances Bonacci, parents Annie & Arthur Simpson and sister Jean Mason (Roy).
