Obituary for James C Guy James C. Guy, age, 94 of Bluff City passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Mountain Home. He was a native of Clinton, Tennessee and the son of the late William and Hattie Bowling Guy. He was also preceded in death by his wife Lona McGhee, a son; Jessee William Guy and five sisters.
James served his country in the Army Air Corp, serving in WWII. He was one of the first volunteers with the Hickory Tree Fire Dept. and he was also a volunteer with the forestry service.
James enjoyed playing the guitar and loved old country music. He also enjoyed woodworking and loved to build birdhouses. Those left to cherish his memory include, five children; James D. Guy (Charlotte Ann) of Bluff City, Carol E. Lyons of Kingsport, Michael A. Guy (Sue) of Bluff City, Jane Broyles of Bristol, TN, Julie Miller (Dallas) of Blountville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be conducted from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Tetrick Funeral Home – Bluff City Chapel. The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Glenwood Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Bristol VFW post 6975. Active pallbearers will be grandchildren. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mountain Home VA doctors, nurses and staff, also to his caregivers Charlotte Guy and Carol Lyons.
