James Clinton “Butch” Hood Jr. December 30, 1945 – February 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card James Clinton “Butch” Hood Jr., age 73, of Tipton, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital Kokomo. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on December 30, 1945 to James and Elsie (Walton) Hood-Castor. Butch was a 1964 graduate of Windfall High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He retired from the Indiana department of Transportation in 1983. In his spare time Butch enjoyed watching football, basketball, fishing, hunting and playing fantasy football. His true enjoyment was attending his granddaughters softball games.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie Hood-Castor, his two daughters; Angie (Ed) Young and Jami (Corey) Nash along with his grandchildren; Gregory Hood, Andrew Jarvis, Nevaeh Powell, Alyssa Nash, Kylie Piel, Jessica Piel and a great grandchild Kaseyn Jarvis. Butch is also survived by his 3 sisters; Dianna (Walter) Jones, Nancy (Earl) Lee and Linda Clark along with several nieces and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his father James Clinton Hood Sr. and a brother in law Gary Clark.

Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM on Saturday February 23, 2019 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 726 East North Street in Tipton. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Saturday following visitation with Pastor Terry Russell officiating.
