James’ Obituary James Dahl Caldwell passed away February 22, 2019, in his home, in Snowflake, AZ. He was 90 years old. Jim was born June 25, 1928, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada.

The oldest child of Una May Jensen and Edward Dahl Caldwell. Jim was preceded in death by three brothers and twin sisters, and his wife Dixie. He served a mission in Australia from 1948 through 1950.

After his mission Jim met Dixie V Flake, while attending BYU. They were married in 1954, in the Mesa, AZ Temple. They are the parents of nine children.

Clay, Mark, Jill, Jackie, Bret, Janet (deceased at age 12), Julie, Ben, and Tom. Their first six children were born in six different states, as Jim pursued his education. He received a Bachelor’s degree from BYU, a Master’s degree from The University of Nebraska, and did all the classwork for a doctorate, except the dissertation, in Animal Husbandry.

Jim started pig farming in Snowflake in 1966. He loved farming and took pride in a well run, clean, successful farm. Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He had great faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jim served as a bishop and a mission president of the Colorado, Denver Mission. Jim loved his wife Dixie and his nine children.

Being a husband and father was his greatest calling. Jim and Dixie have 41 grandchildren, and 79 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday, March 1, 2019, at the Snowflake Main Street Chapel from 6:00-8:00 PM.

On Saturday, March 2, 2019 a viewing will be held at 10:00 AM with funeral services starting at 11:00 AM. Arrangements were entrusted to Silver Creek Mortuary. If you wish to share condolences with the Caldwell family please visit www.
