James D. Hill Benton, LA- Funeral services for Mr. James D. Hill, age 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Springhill with son, Marcus Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Shongaloo, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Hill was born on November 6, 1941 in Springhill, LA and passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Theodore, AL. He was a proud graduate of Louisiana Tech and a Chemical Engineer for International Paper. He enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Mary Hill, his grandchildren and fishing.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, a beloved grandfather, a good friend and a quiet spirit. He is survived in death by his son, Marcus Hill and wife, Debbie of Chapin, SC; daughter, Catherine Clark and husband, David of Theodore AL; seven grandchildren, Caroline Moorefield husband, Frankie and great-grandson, Tyson of Rock Hill, SC; Savanna Hill of Lexington, SC, Andrew Hill PFC USMC, Emma Hill and Ryan Hill of Chapin, SC; Cody Clark of Coden, AL and Chase Clark of Theodore , AL; sister in-law, Emma Slack of Springhill, LA; brother in-law, Jack Bagent and wife, Betty of Baton Rouge, LA; brother in law, Benny Rich of Plain Dealing, LA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Hill and sister in law, Betty Rich.
