Obituary for James H. Davis Sr. A celebration of the life of James H. Davis, Sr., 69, of Eastlake, will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Mr. Davis passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Heartland of Mentor. Born May 4, 1948 in Cleveland, he has lived in Eastlake for more than 40 years.

He was member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 490 in Painesville, and a member and past president of Chardon Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #2261. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Cleveland Indians fan, a proud member of the National Rifle Association and was a bowling coach at the former Regal Lanes in Mentor. Mr. Davis was employed as a tester and shop steward at the former Elwell-Parker Company in Cleveland for 29 years and as an assembler at the Steris Corporation in Mentor for 12 years.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Emilie (Hipsher) Davis; children, Christine (Pete) Amata and James H. Davis, Jr. and grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan, Alex and Anthony Amata. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret (Stufflebean) Davis and brothers, Thomas, Kenneth and William Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
