James Iafrate, 90, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his home. James was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 9, 1927 to the late Tony and Angelina (Rogero) Iafrate. He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II.

James was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and also a member of the VFW Post 1114. James is survived by his son, Terry Iafrate (Mary) of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-law, Lottie Iafrate; grandchildren,… Read More » Brandon and Michael Iafrate, Amber Futrell (Cliff), Clint and Kevin Wagner; great grandchildren, Emily and Parker Futrell, Jaxson Iafrate and Theo Wagner; and a half brother, Sal Eifrate of Detroit, MI. James was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Freda L. (Dattilo) Iafrate in April 2018; a son, James Iafrate; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.

Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 AM until service time on Monday . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Rd. , Evansville, IN 47710 or the Vanderburgh Humane Society, P.O. Box 6711, Evansville, IN 47719.
