James “Jim” McDonald, 66, of Spring Church, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 19, 1951 in Wilkinsburg, he was a son of the late James Homer McDonald and Francis R. (Moore) McDonald. Jim was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School, and proudly served our country with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marlene E. (Snyder) McDonald; sons, James McDonald of Kittanning, Jason (Mendie) McDonald of Vandergrift, Joseph (Chrysta) McDonald of Vandergrift, Justin & Matt McDonald of Spring Church; daughters, Charlene Montgomery of Avonmore, Wanda (Tim) Pierce of North Washington, Sue Ashcraft of North Apollo, Jackelyn (Lee Talmage) McDonald of Allegheny Township; sixteen grandchildren; brothers, Jeff (Betsy) McDonald of Wall, PA, John (Bobbi) McDonald of North Huntingdon, Joel McDonald of North Huntingdon; sister, Joy (John) Adams of Plum; eight nieces; and five nephews. Friends will received on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave. , Apollo.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Forrest States officiating. Following the services, military honors will be accorded by the Armstrong County American Legion Honor Guard. Private interment in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, at the convenience of the family.
