OBITUARY James “Jim” Pitcock Sr. April 3, 1931 – November 12, 2018 James Ewing Pitcock Sr., 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. He was born in Barren County, Kentucky, to the late Elza & Frankie Pitcock. Jim retired from Ford Motor Co., was a member of Parkland Baptist Church and was a Mason (Valley Lodge #511) for over 50 years.

He was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Pitcock; and sisters: Jocille Owen, Helen Joseph, and Nelle Horlander. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years, Geneva Shelton Pitcock; children: Sherry Schmidt (Bob), Sandy Oskins (Kim), Pamela Howell (Steve), James Pitcock Jr. (Tammy), Angela Schuyler (Zach); 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: John Pitcock (Judy), Jane Smith (Bob), Ethel White (George), Suzanne Schott, Richard Pitcock (Donna); and a host of other family members and friends.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Arch L Heady & Son – Okolona, 8519 Preston Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018, from 2-6 PM at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 5:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. In honor of Jim’s memory, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
