James’ Obituary James Luther Johnson, Sr., 75, passed away on January 19, 2019 at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Sidney and Margaret Harrison. His parents; brother, Lorenzo Johnson; sister, Emma Robinson; and sons, Donald Ray and Terrance Johnson preceded him in death.

Affectionately known as “Jimmy” or “Blue”, James attended Capital Senior high School in Baton Rouge. He later to the Kansas City area nearly forty-eight years ago, where he gained employment at Ford Motor Company from which he retired. On January 1, 1966 James was united in marriage to Ms. Annie Jones.

He genuinely loved his wife and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose memory will live on the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Annie Johnson; sons, James L. Johnson, Jr. and Brian Johnson; daughters, Stacey Johnson-Jack and Shannon Johnson; grandchildren, Roger, Ryan, Carlos, James, Fiera, LuJuan, Darnell, Sharnell, TuRuan, Byron, Brian, Elijah, Donald, Arion, Angel, DuJuan, and Qualiqua; a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, January 26, 2:00 pm at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the chapel.
