James L. Whiting, 73 of Brockton, MA passed away December 22, 2018 at West Acres Nursing Home after a long illness. Born November 5, 1945 in Brockton he was the son of the late Lester R. and Mabel (Hannaford) Whiting. James was a graduate of Brockton High School and was a life long resident of Brockton.

He was a long time manager of Cumberland Farms in Stoughton. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He is survived by John Whiting of AZ, his cousin Jeff Bagdon of Brockton and his best friend Kurt Gaibl of Stoughton and several other cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. Vistation has been omitted In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the American Cancer Institute.
