James “Jim” Lynn Bailiff, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at The Laurels of Carson City after a yearlong battle with cancer. James was born on May 13, 1952 to James and Eleanor (Holton) Bailiff in Lansing. Jim was a 1970 graduate of Lakewood Highschool.

Jim was raised in Sunfield and farmed all his life. He had a love for cars, tractors and being outdoors. Spending time with family was also a favorite thing for Jim to do.

During his year long battle with cancer, his sister Rose and husband Rick took him into their home and provided loving care as long as they could. The rest of the family is very thankful for them doing this for Jim. He leaves behind his mother Eleanor; siblings Rose (Richard) Henry, William Bailiff and Carol Proctor; children Melissa Bailiff and Grace Ann (Jerry) Miller; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his father James Sr.; grandparents Garland and Grace Bailiff, Melvin and Ina Holton; sister in law Diane Bailiff; nephew William Bailiff Jr. Visitation will be held for Jim on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Koops Funeral Chapel from 11am until time of services at 1pm. Burial will take place at the E. Sebewa Cemetery immediately following the services at Koops Funeral Chapel. Memorials can be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in Jim’s name.
