Obituary for James Russel “Rusty” Tankersley James Russel “Rusty” Tankersley, 60, husband of Carly Youngblood Tankersley, entered into rest Thursday, October 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Kiokee Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Rusty, a native of Columbia County, was the son of Mary Miles Tankersley and the late Russel Tankersley. He worked as Commercial Estimator and project manager in the construction industry. Rusty was an all-round outdoorsman, including his passion for fishing, bird hunting, boating and college football.

Survivors include his wife, Carly Tankersley; his mother, Mary Tankersley; his daughter, Kelly Schubert (William); two grandchildren, William Schubert, Jr. and Anna Schubert; one nephew, Brad Newman; and two cousins, Billy and Bobby Tankersley. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Elaine Newman and his cherished dog, Gretchen. If so desired, memorials may be made to Kiokee Baptist Church, PO Box 430, Appling, GA 30802.
