James C. Ferguson May 10, 1927 – May 3, 2018 Surrounded by his family, Jim (Jay) was lifted to heaven on the wings of angels into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Nearly 91 years ago this month, he was born in Millstone, Kentucky to Gardner and Frances Ferguson. He was the oldest of seven children.

He has three brothers and three sisters. He was a navy Veteran who served one tour of duty after World War II off the coast of Saipan on the USS Pennsylvania and Destroyer Escort. He married Margaret (Margie) Culbertson in April 1946 and has three children – Kathy (Richard), Steve (Raine), and Carol.

He was blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Heartbroken after losing Margie to cancer in 2005, he married Gwen Chojnacki in 2012. She lost her battle to cancer in 2015.

Viewing will be held at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel from 5 – 7 Pm on Tuesday, May 8: the funeral is planned for Wednesday, May 9 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated in his honor to Community Hospice.
